Outer wall Cellulose Insulation.

Blown Paper Cellulose Insulation is ~1.5x more "R" Value per inch of thickness when compared to Fiberglass Insulation plus provides higher sound proofing. Cost addition for a 2800sf house is ~$1200.

 

Whole House Radiant Barrier protection

Installed before the Brick Veneer. These Infrared Radiation (IR) Barriers shield the air conditioned leaving space by reflecting back ~90% of the Infrared Radiation from the hot brick veneer before it is absorbed into the outer walls.  In the summer Infrared heat transfer accounts for up to 80% of the heat load placed on a home's AC system.

Typical Cost of a whole house radiant barrier is approximately $1500 - $3000 depending upon the size of the home being built.
