Home Buyer Activity UP SHARPLY - Local Market is Heating Up

Saturday, January 23rd, 2010 at 8:39pm. 480 Views, 2 Comments.

Wow, CSS or the Centralized Showing Service that Realtors use to schedule showing appointments around Dallas, was totally crushed today and scores of homes are getting multiple offers just days after being listed. I noticed personally that several homes we wanted to show today were already contracted. This means changes are occuring and as activity picks up you can bet prices are going to rise and that is problem No.1 if you are a buyer, but have not yet found a home. Problem No.2 is going to be Mortgage Interest Rates which only have so many days or weeks before fundamentals force rates higher. Without a doubt, if you are looking for the once in 50 years type of deals that have just passed by the radar, well I hate to say, the party looks to be all but…

Wine Pick up PartyMcKinney has come a long way in the last 10 years and the renovation of the historic district has made McKinney's old downtown square, built during the 1800's, the place to go to have a great time. Landon Winery actually makes much of the wine they sell right there at their Winery. The pick up part happens every 2 months where members are allowed to sample new wines and local appitizers.

Season Greetings and Special Cheer at the Landon Winery on the Historic Square in Old Downtown McKinney

Friday, December 12th, 2008 at 9:39pm. 171 Views, 0 Comments.

img_3942_400Amidst of all the clamor of an economic slow down there is one bright spot that brings smiles to many. Landon Winery in "old" downtown McKinney is a growing success. Located on the square in the old downtown "Historic District" in old downtown McKinney only adds to the nostalgia that is "Landon Winery."

I'll act stupid and ask why? Why Landon Winery in Old Downtown McKinney? Why even waste any time writing about this unique establishment? Actually I would have months ago, but was trying to think how I could explain this!

img_3950_400It's all about the quality. It's all about pride. It's the awards, many awards, it's the atmosphere, it's the location, it's simply has to be a "10." The quality of the wine produced at this small "Micro" Brew Winery gets the "nods" of some…

Home Sales Pick up going into Nov. 4th Election

Tuesday, November 4th, 2008 at 8:35am. 102 Views, 0 Comments.

It's November 4th and Change is in the air. With all the bad economic news out there home sales are supprisingly on the rise in Dallas and Collin County. Homes that are priced in the $120's to $160's are in strong demand and with many sellers holding off on listing their homes, the supply is actually thin in many towns and locations like McKinney. Add in the fact that new home construction has slowed and that new home prices are a good 15% to 25% above similar square footage found in the existing markets, and you can see why there may be shortage of affordable homes on the market now.

In the $300K and above range is where a lot of inventory exists. With the economic slump fewer buyers are in this category making this about the best time in a very long time…

If you have not seen the NEW MCKINNEY HISTORIC DISTRICT since all the new sidewalks and street construction has been completed, well you are for a treat. The Historic McKinney Downtown was the site of this year's FIRST Octoberfest in this venue. There were over 5000 people here walking around and having a blast. There are excellent restaurants, like Rick's Steak House and LaMisha's Cafe and others. So don't miss a chance to have a really wonderful time!

 And one last word, BOO!
